Privacy stance

Privacy

The short version: every tool on offlineutils.com runs entirely in your browser, so the data you paste never leaves your device. The only thing we measure is anonymous, cookie-less page views — enough to know the site is being used, never enough to know who you are.

Your data stays in your browser

Every tool runs as JavaScript inside your tab. The text you paste, the files you drop, and the secrets you decode are processed on your own device — never uploaded, logged, or stored. Once a page has loaded, the tools themselves make zero network requests; close the tab and the data is gone with it.

What we measure

We want to know if people are actually using the site, but we don't want to spy on you. We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It is GDPR-compliant, cookie-less, and anonymizes your IP address. In practice that means:

  • No cookiesand nothing stored on your device — so there's no consent banner to click through.
  • No IP stored. Your IP address is used once, at the edge, to derive a rough country, then immediately discarded. It is never saved or attached to anything.
  • No fingerprinting, no cross-site tracking. Visitors are counted with a hash that resets every 24 hours, so you can't be followed from one day — or one site — to the next.
  • Aggregate only. We see counts — which pages are popular, roughly which countries, desktop vs. mobile — never individuals. The script only ever sees the page address; the data you type into a tool is never part of it.
  • First-party, never sold. The script is served from this domain, not a third party, and the data is never sold or shared with advertisers.

What we don't do

  • No accounts, no sign-ups, no email collection.
  • No advertising and no ad-tech — there is no third-party ad code on this site.
  • No behavioral profiling, no session recording, no heatmaps.
  • No server-side processing of your input — every tool's logic runs in your browser.
  • No selling or sharing of data with anyone, for any reason.

Don't trust us — check

Open your browser's developer tools and switch to the Network tab. When a page loads you'll see one tiny, anonymous page-view ping to /_vercel/insights— that's the analytics, and it carries none of your input. After that, use any tool: format, hash, decode, generate. The tool itself makes zero requests, because the work happens on your machine.

Want to be certain nothing leaves? Turn off your Wi-Fi. Every tool keeps working with no connection at all — proof that your data was never going anywhere. We wrote up exactly what our analytics can and can't see in this post.

Changes

If we ever change anything material about this privacy stance, it will be reflected on this page, with the date below updated. There is no quiet update path here.
